About the Role
The Shire of Mundaring is seeking a motivated Community Landcare Officer to work with Friends Groups, Catchment Groups, schools and private landholders to deliver local landcare initiatives. You’ll coordinate volunteers, support environmental projects, assist with grants, and provide landcare education across the community. This role is a fixed term contract for 6 months with the possibility of an extension.
Key Responsibilities
• support and coordinate Friends and Catchment Groups.
• deliver school-based and community landcare programs.
• assist private landholders with landcare advice and engagement programs.
• prepare and support grant applications and environmental projects.
• promote safe, ethical and compliant working practices.
About You
You will bring:
• strong written and verbal communication skills.
• at least 2 years’ environmental operations experience.
• knowledge of environmental processes and relevant legislation.
• project management and community engagement skills.
• tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar.
• WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence and Senior First Aid.
