The Shire of Mundaring is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bitumen Operator to join our Built Environment Operations team. This full-time position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment and provides labourer support for road maintenance and construction projects.

Key responsibilities
• safely operate plant including the Flocon truck, compactor, roller, and skid steer loader
• undertake road maintenance tasks such as preparing and repairing surfaces for asphalt/bitumen re-sheeting and resealing
• carry out general labouring duties and other tasks as directed by supervisors

What we are looking for
• experience in safely applying hot and cold bituminous products for road maintenance and construction
• specialised skills in road bitumen repairs and using a Flocon Unit
• developed knowledge of safe bitumen and asphalt application
• a current WA "HR" driver's licence and a Construction Safety Awareness Training card
• the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Shire of Mundaring is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Governance and Information Administration Officer to join its Governance and Risk team.

In this role, you will provide operational and administrative support to ensure the efficient delivery of governance functions and day-to-day information management services. Your work will contribute to legislative compliance, effective records management, and the development of governance policies and documents that support our vision for sustainable living.

Key responsibilities:
• provide administrative and logistical support to the Governance Team, including managing correspondence, training materials, and internal communications
• deliver efficient records and information management services, including receipt, classification, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposal of documents
• maintain registers for declarations of interest, gifts, financial returns, statutory authorisations, and other legislative compliance records
• assist with Freedom of Information (FOI) applications, including document collation and redaction preparation
• identify and implement process improvements to enhance governance and records management workflows

• a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion when handling sensitive governance documents
• demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Multi Plant Operator / Labourer

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Multi Plant Operator/ Labourer to join our Maintenance team. This dual-role position involves performing general labouring duties related to road and drainage maintenance and operating a range of small to medium machinery (e.g. rollers, skid steers, mini-excavators, compactors).

You will play a key role in maintaining safe, functional roads and infrastructure, with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and quality, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities:
• assist with roadside drainage work including clearing culverts, pits, and stormwater lines
• perform physical labour including digging, shovelling, raking, and heavy lifting
• carry out road surface repairs (pothole patching, asphalt reinstatement, crack sealing)
• set up and pack down traffic control devices (signs, cones, barriers)
• work safely in live traffic environments and adhere to all site safety protocols

What we are looking for:
• experience in site preparation, roadworks, earthworks, drainage, or other civil infrastructure projects
• current WA HR driver’s licence
• White Card
• relevant experience operating mechanical plant equipment of low – medium operator complexity
• experience in road or civil maintenance, construction, or utilities
• strong physical fitness and stamina for outdoor manual work
• strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
• a proactive team player with good communication skills and attention to detail

Shire of Mundaring is seeking a dedicated and skilled Governance Officer to join our team. This full-time position is instrumental in ensuring the Shire complies with all relevant legislation, its Governance Framework and Risk policies.

As Governance Officer you will be required to:
• provide governance support and advice to the CEO, Council, Executive Leadership Team and staff on legislative matters, local laws, policies and procedures
• support, monitor and improve the Shire’s governance framework, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• manage and review statutory registers, internal governance registers and the corporate compliance calendar
• support and oversee continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring measurable outcomes and alignment with organisational priorities

The Shire of Mundaring is seeking a proactive and community-focused person with a keen eye for detail to join our Civil Works team as Infrastructure Protection Officer.

Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Works, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective maintenance of our civil and parks infrastructure assets to required standards through proactive planning, organisation, and on-site compliance inspections. You will also monitor the work carried out by contractors, public utilities, employees, and residents within road reserves, parks, ovals, and reserves.

Commuting use of a shire vehicle is provided.

• operate and maintain a range of heavy plant and equipment, such as backhoes, loaders, and laser levels, in a safe manner
• provide on-the-job training and guidance to employees and contractors to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• monitor and record materials used on projects, and ensure purchasing is in align with procurement procedures
• provide a high level of customer service

What we are looking for
• leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
