About the Job


Shire of Mundaring is seeking a friendly, motivated and customer focused Library Officer to join our Library Services team within the Place and Community Directorate.

This role supports the delivery of high quality, accessible public library services and programs in line with the Shire’s Strategic Community Plan. Working closely with colleagues across the library network, the Library Officer plays an important role in providing welcoming customer service, maintaining library collections and systems, and fostering positive community connections.

Key Responsibilities
• deliver friendly, approachable and efficient customer service to library users of all ages
• assist with circulation services, membership enquiries and general library operations
• support the delivery of library services through a range of operational tasks, including Inter Library Loans, stock processing, outreach services and library systems maintenance, with responsibilities rotating
annually between Library Officers
• use the Spydus Library Management System to complete data entry, searches and transactions.

What We’re Looking For
• well developed customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with a diverse community in a dynamic public‑facing environment
• strong literacy, numeracy and computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and library systems.

Certificate III in Library and Information Services or higher (or working towards) and previous experience working in a library environment is desirable.

Position Hours
Part time 43 hrs per fortnight as follows:
• Tuesday 11am to 4pm
• Thursday 11am to 7pm
• Friday 9am to 5.30pm
• One Saturday in three.

  • Give an example of a time when you worked collaboratively with colleagues to achieve a shared goal or deliver a service. What was your role, how did you contribute to the team, and what was the result?
