Job Opportunity Details
Grader Operator - Construction & Maintenance
About the Job
Are you a seasoned grader operator who knows how to build a good shire road the old-school way? No GPS just pegs, levels, a good eye, and pride in a tidy finish. If you can also knock over maintenance grading on gravel roads and leave them safe and flat for locals, we should talk.
Done the long swings, chasing the big-bucks and now you’re keen on set hours and being home every night? This one’s built for that. You’ll get a nine-day fortnight, good super, and the kind of work-life balance that lets you enjoy life now, and ease into retirement later.
Like working in a bush landscape, in a small crew where everyone pitches in and no two days are the same. You’ll jump between the grader, trucks and other plant, and you won’t be afraid to grab a shovel now and then to keep fit. Duties include:
• construction and maintenance grading (shire roads and gravel)
• working to peg levels and your own experience (including eyeball jobs)
• operating grader plus other earthmoving plant and equipment
• truck driving as needed
• drainage and general road works (construction and maintenance)
• hands-on teamwork.
The Shire reserves the right to commence interviews of candidates at any time and encourages you to apply now.
