Library Technology and Digital Systems Technician
About the Job
We seek a highly organised and innovative individual to join our dynamic library services team.
This role supports the Shire's library services by ensuring the smooth operation of technological and digital resources.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Administer and maintain the Library Management System, online public access catalogue, RFID, and related equipment.
• Test and implement software updates and enhancements.
• Research and recommend new library technologies.
• Ensure digital services are accessible, reliable and relevant to the community.
• Support the Shire’s values – Community Focus, Proactive, Respectful, Accountable.
Skills & Requirements:
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences, including staff, vendors and the community.
• In-depth knowledge of public library services and specialised technologies.
• Proven ability to manage existing technology and implement new systems.
• Commitment to sustainability in a public library context.

Selection Criteria
Can you tell us about your experience working with library management systems, including any specific systems you have previously used?
How would you handle challenging customer service interactions with a diverse range of customers? Can you share how you have successfully managed a difficult customer interaction?
Can you describe a time when you worked independently to complete a task? How do you adapt your working style when moving from independent to team environments?
What experience do you have managing and maintaining websites and digital platforms? Can you discuss a project where you significantly improved an online service?
