About the Job
The Shire’s vision is “The Place for Sustainable Living” and we are seeking a motivated Planning Officer with a strong foundation in statutory planning to join our team on a part time basis.
As part of Planning services, you will help inform the Shire’s statutory decisions and recommendations. The role involves assessing a range of applications for development and subdivision approval and providing statutory planning advice to the Shire’s customers and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, a demonstrated understanding of the planning system and experience with GIS software.
To be considered for this position you must hold a tertiary qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
Selection Criteria

Outline your experience in formulating and evaluating solutions to planning issues relevant to the role.
Provide an example of a situation where you used negotiation or conflict resolution skills to resolve a difficult situation.
